Da quando i canali televisivi italiani hanno dato il via al lento e graduale passaggio dal vecchio segnale analogico al nuovo Digitale Terrestre , come certamente in molti avranno notato, la confusione è stata enorme, e, come al solito, nel nostro Paese, l'informazione per il cittadino, è stata spesso incompleta e carente. Lo si è visto in particolar modo lo scorso novembre 2009 nel Lazio, dove, nella sola città di Roma, un gran numero di persone si sono trovate in difficoltà a gestire il passaggio e alla conseguente risintonizzazione degli abituali canali. Ricordo che in quei giorni il viceministro per le telecomunicazioni Romani si affrettava a rispondere alle varie proteste e richieste d'aiuto, dispensando a ripetizione the usual tips that everyone said: " retune the decoder ", " equip yourself with digital decoder or a television with built-in decoder " and nothing else. Then è arrivata anche Tivù Sat , la grande promessa: la prima piattaforma satellitare gratuita italiana, nata dalla fusione dei principale networks nazionali (Rai-Mediaset-La7 [Telecom Italia Media]), con l'intento preciso di replicare integralmente, e in maniera speculare al terrestre, canali e palinsesti completi sul satellite. Un clone perfetto del digitale terrestre, insomma, ma via satellite. Le premesse erano senz'altro ottime: finalmente anche il cittadino sfigato che paga regolarmente il canone tv, e che non riusciva a ricevere tutto il gratis via etere, aveva finalmente e democraticamente la possibilità, grazie alla parabola, di vedere tutti i canali che si ricevevano già in città, e, senza gli odiosi criptaggi, grazie alla smart card. Alleluja, tutti avremo pensato, era ora! La realtà, tuttavia, è stata un tantino meno rosea di quanto si sperava. Perché? Direi che la situazione si può riassumere in questi punti:
- I decoder ufficiali all'inizio erano soltanto 3, e tutti quanti hanno rivelato difetti e bug tecnici; chi più, chi meno, a parità di prezzo esorbitante, rispetto a un comune zapper dtt: i prezzi variavano dagli 89 euro per il Telesystem TS9000 (cifretta, comunque, non da poco) ai 150/170 dello Humax Combo.
- La Smart Card ufficiale della piattaforma, fino a pochi mesi fa, era venduta solo in corredo all'apperecchio, e, inoltre, non esisteva ancora la SmarCam Journal (the form Cam to use the card of TV Sat decoder also on another non-official and common interface type ). - Altra nota dolente: i canali che sono replicati via satellite da Tivù Sat, non sono esattamente, né "tutti" , né "gli stessi" del digitale terrestre: mancano, infatti, e tuttora all'appello: i canali di musicali di MTV, i canali di SPORTITALIA (ancora vincolati a contratti di trasmissione esclusiva con SKY), K2 PLUS di Telecom Italia Media (La7), e La7D, nonché i telegiornali regionali di Rai 3. Infatti, incredibilmente, alle soglie del 2011, se un cittadino Pescasseroli (AQ) vuole, ovviamente, vedere il telegiornale regionale abruzzese, o riesce a prenderlo da qualche ripetitore terrestre in DTT, o si attacca..
